Dubai Police Force Maintains the Most Expensive Exotic Cars in the World

Nestled in the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf, the oil rich country of Dubai is the business hub of the middle east has become a tourist destination for the super wealthy, urban sophisticated modern man.

The most populated country of the UAE (United Arab Emirates) boasts several high income tourists spots including The Dubai Mall (which houses the Dubai Aquarium and Discovery Centre), Dubai International Airport (the worls busiest), Burj Khalifa (the world’s tallest man-made tower), Ski Dubai(indoor ski resort).

The Dubai police force has greatly invested in their ultramodern police cars so as to effectively contain crime and the increasing number of deaths caused by over speeding. Some of the additions include: McLaren MP4-12C, Lamborghini Aventador, Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari FF, Aston Martin One-77, Mercedes SLS Gullwing and Bentley Continental.

1. McLaren MP4-12C

This car was added to the already available fleet of ultramodern patrol cars that the police department already has in December 2013. Although it is not as fast as the renowned F1, it has a 604 horsepower and can manage 321 kilometers per hour. Costing approximately £170,000, McLaren MP4-12C has been mounted with a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre engine that produces nearly three times the power of panda vehicles that are mostly used by the British police departments. Since the Dubai has a wealthy population, the presence of luxury cars on the road is a norm, and thus, in order to curb over speeding, the McLaren MP4-12C accelerates from 0mph to around 62mph in about 3.1 seconds. Such speeds thus make it hard for speeding and other criminals to easily get away unnoticed.

2. Lamborghini Aventador

This is an all-wheel drive extreme road vehicle and has 691 horsepower. Lamborghini Aventador is mounted on a V12 engine weighing approximately 235 kilograms. The model that the Dubai police have can easily accelerate from 0mph to approximately 60mph in less than 3 seconds. This car can do roughly 349 kilometers per hour thus enabling the police to contain crime and over speeding. This vehicle has been essential in acting as a deterrent force to would be criminals and traffic offenders. The central longitudinal positioning of the engine has been noted as one of the factors that are essential in powering the Lamborghini Aventador.

3. Bugatti Veyron

Amongst the fleet that the Dubai police department has, the Bugatti Veyron is regarded as the dominant because of its speeds and acquisition costs. It was acquired in 2014 at for around $1.6 million. This car can do approximately 397 kilometers per hours and thus it is a good purchase to rival the other hi-tech vehicles that Dubai’s elite has been buying. This car has a 1200 horsepower and its turbocharged engine is mid-mounted V16. It also has an 8 liter capacity. This model can either be driven in the automatic or semi-automatic mode. Like the Lamborghini Aventador, it is an all-wheel drive.

4. Ferrari FF

Dissimilar to the other ultramodern fleet of cars that the Dubai police department has acquired, the Ferrari FF is a four seater. Like the Bugatti Veyron and Lamborghini Aventador, it is also an all-wheel drive. It has a V12 engine powering it and accelerates from 0mph to nearly 60mph in about 3.7 seconds. The Ferrari FF can easily manage 334 kilometers per hour thus cementing its spot amongst some of the fast four seater cars that Dubai police department has acquired. It is a four wheel drive and has a 651 horsepower. To facilitate transmission, it has a seven speed clutch double-semiautomatic paddle structure.

5. Aston Martin One-77

As the name suggest, the Aston Martin One-77 were only limited to a production of 77 cars, and hence the 77 in the name. Manufactured by British Aston Martin, in high-speed chases, the Aston Martin One-77 will be a plus for the Dubai police department; although this ultramodern car cannot be used in pit maneuvers. It averages 354 kilometers per hour since it accelerates 0mph to 60mph in approximately 3.5 seconds. It is powered by a V12 engine and has a 750 horsepower. It also boosts of a six speed automatic manual. This model weighs around 1500kg. With a fiber carbon body, the car costs nearly $1.5 million.

6. Mercedes SLS Gullwing

The Mercedes SLS Gullwing is a 6.3 liter and 539 horsepower V8, thus making it accelerate from 0mph to 60mph in nearly 3.6 seconds. The Gullwing has a front engine and it is a two seater. Part of its name, Gullwing, is originated from the nature of its doors. The doors, which open upwards, can only be closely manually since had the manufactures developed an automatic closing system, this would have added approximately 41kg to the total weight. The doors were also part of a safety precaution during manufacturing because in the occurrence of an accident, they can disintegrate from the body thus allowing the occupants to come out. It has an aluminum body thus making it super light hence the terrific speeds.

7. Bentley Continental GT

Manufactured by Bentley Motors, a British producer, this was the first in a range of productions to be produced massively. It is a 6 liter and is powered by W12 twin turbo. The Bentley Continental GT has a longitudinal front engine and it is also a four wheel drive. The car has a 6 speed automatic transmission. It also has a 560 horsepower. The Bentley Continental GT can accelerate from 0mph to 60mph in 4.8 seconds thus implying that the car can easily do 318 kilometers an hour. At the time of its production, between 2003 and 2011, these cars appeared in a range of colors; ranging from diamond black, Umbrian red to burnt oak.

8. BMW i8

Digital Trends describes the i8 wing-like doors and futuristic styling, the i8 certainly has the looks to match anything else in the Dubai Police fleet, and its ability to drive on silent electric power will probably come in handy in urban traffic.

The i8 powertrain teams along side a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder all electric motor that produces a combined 357 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. That impressive horsepower pushes the BMW i8 from 0 – 60 mph (0 – 100 kph) in 4.2 seconds.
